My name is Leah, and I’m a naturopathic doctor, a podcaster, and a registered yoga teacher. I am also a cancer survivor. For nearly ten years, I worked as a naturopathic doctor in integrative cancer centers, supporting patients using natural and conventional therapies from the start of their treatment through survivorship. I also co-host a podcast about naturopathic and integrative cancer care.I want to create a space where cancer patients, thrivers, survivors, and lifers would be surrounded by like-minded people going through similar situations. Where they can learn about integrative therapies like yoga, massage, and acupuncture. A place where they gather, talk, laugh, and cry, but mostly talk and laugh, and maybe have a cup of tea or learn how to cook something healthy. As I figure out the logistics of how to make this dream a reality with four walls, I will first start online, where I found my tribe.
about
cancer yoga club
Research shows that yoga helps cancer patients and survivors manage treatment and cancer-associated symptoms and side effects and helps improve quality of life. I encourage incorporating yoga as an effective, low-cost cancer management tool.I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor trained in Functional Medicine, with board certification in naturopathic oncology, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, and a breast cancer survivor. I bring nearly a decade of experience working in renowned integrative cancer centers. I am well-versed in the side effects of conventional cancer treatments and safely help to guide patients through a therapeutic yoga practice. In addition to my RYT credentials, I completed additional certification in oncology yoga through Yoga4Cancer and in yoga and meditation for the brain injury community through Love Your Brain Foundation.
the podcast
the cancer pod
The Cancer Pod came to be when my friend, Dr. Tina Kaczor, and I were looking to find ways to reach more people to teach them about integrative medicine and integrative oncology. We talk about all things cancer-related like treatment side effects and survivorship concerns, but this isn’t just a show for previvors, cancer patients, and cancer survivors. Friends, family, and other caregivers will find the information pertinent. The podcast is now available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and many other platforms, or listen on our website!
